Paddle Canada - Intro to Canoe Tripping
This canoe camping course introduces the canoeist to camping skills that are required to make the trip safe and enjoyable on waterways they are skilled to travel on.

Coastal Canoe
Paddle Canada - Intro to Coastal Canoe
This coastal canoeing course introduces the beginner to paddling with a partner in enclosed and sheltered waters with easy landing options immediately present with wind conditions less than 8 knots with sea state calm to rippled. The skills and knowledge gained at this level form the foundation necessary for confident and safe travel in more dynamic coastal environments later in the program. Rescue techniques at this level revisit assisted rescues taught in the Introduction to Lake Tandem course but are performed in a coastal environment.

Big Canoe
The Big Canoe Program is designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and skill for safe and efficient Big Canoe Paddling. The Big Canoe, sometimes called a Voyageur or War Canoe, is a fun way for groups to enjoy paddling. Maritime DayTripping Inc is one of only 3 certified instructors in New Brunswick.
Intro Course
To introduce paddlers to the Big Canoe, specifically to the middle and bow positions. No prior experience is required.
- To introduce the basic strokes to safely propel the canoe forward and stop, stationary turn and turn under power, and to move the canoe sideways (sideward displacement).
- Participants will rotate through the middle, and bow position in a Big Canoe with a Big Canoe Instructor or an Intermediate or Advanced Big Canoe Paddler or an Intermediate or Advanced Big Canoe Paddler Candidate in the stern.

Intermediate Big Canoe Leader
To introduce Big Canoe paddling to those individuals who have a basic knowledge of paddling strokes.
- To gain knowledge and skill for all positions in the canoe including Bow and a major emphasis on becoming proficient steering in the Stern
- To gain the skill to lead participants in a big canoe on easy water

Evening Big Canoe Practice Sessions
The evenings of June 19, 21, 26 & 28th the Maritime DayTripping Big Canoe will be available for an evening drop-in fee of $10/session from 6pm till dark. This is an opportunity to practice your Big Canoe Skills. If sessions warrant, the CKNB Big Canoe may be available as well. Note - a minimum of at least 5 people are needed for an evening paddle session to operate due to the nature of the canoe. SKills that can be worked on include big canoe precision (pains me to say 'dance') maneuvering and/or racing.
Whitewater Canoe
Solo Intro
This Moving Water Introduction to Solo course introduces the canoeist to many of the fundamental skills, knowledge, and manoeuvres of canoeing whitewater. The nature of class I rapids (current, ripples, small waves, etc.) provide a friendly and safe environment to teach and learn the fundamentals of canoeing Moving Water before venturing into whitewater situations.
The successful Moving Water Introduction to Solo candidate is considered a beginner river canoeist, capable of performing basic shore and water-based river rescues, including self-rescue. The candidate will be introduced to basic river manoeuvres such as eddy turns and ferries while paddling solo, in Class I current, ripple, and small wave rapids.

The candidate is able to perform eddy turns and forward ferries with proficiency, and has been introduced to more complex solo whitewater river manoeuvres in Class II rapids.

Lake Canoe
From our Waterfront to our advanced Lake Skills programs, the Paddle Canada Lake Canoe program is designed to introduce paddlers to the activity of canoeing. Emphasis is placed on boat control and teaching the participants the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and have fun while on the water.
